The synopsis goes something like this ... Van Helsing (Van Dien) and Mina (Kamp-Groeneveld) are part of an interstellar salvage crew who come across the husk of the ship Demeter, which has been missing for 100 years. After boarding, the crew discover the abandoned ship's terrifying cargo, and accidentally let lose the ancient evil that has been sleeping for a century, Count Orlock (aka Dracula) (Kirkwood). In the outer reaches of space, the vampire lives in constant darkness with no threat of sunlight; the crew thus begins a desperate race to reach the light of the Twin Suns of Halbron before none of them are left alive. |

Something to sink your teeth into ... It all started so well for Van Dien, starring in the Paul Verhoeven-directed cult hit Starship Troopers (1997). But, all went downhill for the blonde with the chiseled features thereafter, starting with Modern Vampires (1998). His career kept spiraling downwards with this TV movie which seems to take it's cue from other sci-fi trash like Jason X (2001) and Leprechaun 4: In Space (1997), which put characters where they just shouldn't be. Rapper Coolio co-stars as a drug-addict who turns into a bloodsucker, along with former Baywatch babe Eleniak and Lister, from The Dark Knight (2008) and Vegas Vampires (2003), featured earlier in this list.
