Released: 1998 Director: Andy Ruben
(debut). Starring: John Savage, Starr Andreeff, Miriam Parris, Michael J. Anderson, Diana Frank and Ross Malinger.
The synopsis goes something like this ...
Watching the sun sink below the Pacific horizon is the closest that Zero (Savage) can come to making himself feel almost human again...and this is only after 1,000 years of slowly acclimatizing himself to small amounts of sunlight to build up his resistance. Zero is a vampire. He lives with his 'family' - two female vampires, Alko (Parris) and Laura (Frank), and a green-haired vampire dwarf, Kiddo (Anderson). Watching the sun sink below the Pacific horizon is the closest Corri (Andreeff) can come to clearing her mind of the thoughts that haunt her. Corri is not a vampire, but she lives the vampire lifestyle, sleeping days and turning tricks at night as an exotic dancer at an underground nightclub called Club Vampire. Both Zero and Corri are bored with their lives, which are about to merge.

Something to sink your teeth into ...
Savage has been in some of the most grittiest and greatest films of all-time - most notably The Deer Hunter (1978), Salvador (1986) and The Thin Red Line (1998). But, the career of the now 60-year-old has been dominated by absolute stinkers, Club Vampire possibly the worst of the lot. Not exactly sure what happened to him but, director Ruben, who wrote the screenplay for Poison Ivy (1992), has not worked since helming Club Vampire.
