The synopsis goes something like this ...
In 18th century Romania, Rayne (Loken), a dhampir (half-human, half-vampire), prone to fits of blind blood rage but saddled with a compunction for humans, strives to avenge her mother's rape by her father, Kagan (Kinglsey), King of Vampires. Two vampire hunters, Sebastian (Davis) and Vladimir (Madsen), from the Brimstone Society persuade her to join their cause.

Something to sink your teeth into ...
Four words. Uwe. Boll. Very. Bad. Another lame attempt at movie-making from the unpopular German. The film, another from Boll adapted from a popular video game, picked up six nominations in the 2005 Razzie Awards, but it was such a loser it didn't win any. It seems to have some definite eye-candy, but I think it was all eaten by Meatloaf. The movie was followed by BloodRayne II: Deliverance (2007), directed by Boll, but with only Pare returning from the original. BloodRayne 3: Warhammer (2010) is also on its way.
