2002 | DOG SOLDIERS

Six soldiers. Full moon. No chance.

Genre: Action/Fantasy
Director: Neil Marshall (The Descent, Doomsday).
Starring: Kevin McKidd as Private Cooper, Sean Pertwee as Sergeant Harry G. Wells and Emma Cleasby as Megan.

The synopsis goes something like this ...
A group of British soldiers on a training mission deep in the Scottish Highlands come across the remains of a special forces outfit which have been viciously attacked and killed. Soon finding themselves hunted down, the soldiers, including Pvt Cooper (McKidd) and Sgt Wells (Pertwee), are bailed up in a country house by a family of werewolves.

Something to sink your teeth into ...
IMDb notes that there is very little CGI used in the movie because the film-makers believed that CGI was being over-used at the time and that it would take viewers out of the movie because they would be focused on how the special effects looked rather than the story, thus the werewolves are animatronics and body suits with stilts.

IMDb Rating: 6.8
