17. DOYLE HARGRAVES

Small-town drunk from rural Arkansas who hates children, homosexuals and the mentally-impaired with a good ole' fashioned redneck passion. But, he bites off a little more tobacco than he can chew when he starts pissing off slow-witted Karl Childers (played by Billy Bob Thornton, who also wrote and directed). After Karl witnesses the abuse Doyle dishes out to his girlfriend Linda Wheatley (Natalie Canerday) and her son Frank (Lucas Black), he takes matters - a sharpened lawnmower blade - into his own hands.
